Alistair the peacockEnjoy some of the new wallpaper we’ve added to our collection, from our recent photographic adventures in our own backyard.

Homemade turkey recipe

Sneaky the scrub turkeyFor a fabulous roast turkey recipe, try friend and photographer, Mike Odom’s specialty. Mike is from Florida in the US where they know all about cooking turkeys – Thanksgiving Day is the US version of our Invasion Day, Australia Day.

Our homegrown turkey, the scrub turkey, is barely edible – unbearably tough and pungent, even after long hours of stewing and marination. We recommend sticking to the traditional farm turkey, which, properly dressed and cooked, is unbeatable for festivities.

Here’s Sneaky, who lives on our property and who has survived despite a broken foot, thriving from our scraps.

"That war on Iraq was illegitimate... it was a criminal and immoral conspiracy. No provocation, no link with al-Qaeda, no weapons of Armageddon. Tales of complicity and Osama were self-serving bullshit. It was an old colonial war dressed up as a crusade for Western life and liberty, and it was launched by a clique of war-hungry Judaeo-Christian geopolitical fantasists who hijacked the media and exploited America's post-Nine Eleven psychopathy."
